Motorsports Marketing Pioneer Jim Bowie Joins AIM Autosport as CMO

Brings Executive-Level Experience from Every Facet of the Business of Motorsport

Woodbridge, Ontario (Feb 14, 2018) – AIM Autosport announced today that effective March 1, long time motorsports executive Jim Bowie joins Canada’s most successful racing team as its Chief Marketing Officer.

“Jim brings a creative, value-driven, strategic marketing and communications mindset to AIM and his incredible record of success has had a positive impact on-track, off-track and to all stakeholders,” explained Ian Willis of AIM Autosport. “We are excited to have Jim join our team as we look to leverage our 20+ years of success into new and exciting motorsports programs and partnerships.”

AIM is a partnership formed in 1995 by engineers Ian and Keith Willis along with former Champion racer Andrew Bordin and they have been winners in every category of open wheel and sports car racing they have competed in. AIM, along with partner Always Evolving was named “The most successful NISSAN Motorsports program globally” in 2015 by NISSAN Motorsports after capturing 18 podiums in 20 Pirelli World Challenge events which included seven class wins.

Bowie, with over 25 years in the sport, brings senior-level experience from every aspect in the business side of auto racing; racing schools; race track; race teams; race series; sanctioning body; driver management and working directly with OEMs. Most recently, Bowie comes to AIM after more than five years with Mazda Motorsports where he was integral in shaping the strategic marketing initiatives, partner programs and more for all of the Mazda Road to Indy and Mazda Road to 24 properties, plus Mazda Team Joest, Mazda’s comprehensive grassroots programs and the award-winning Mazda STEM community outreach program. Bowie is also the proud owner of an Indy 500 Champion’s ring earned while leading the marketing for the 1997 race winning team with drivers Arie Luyendyk and Scott Goodyear.

“I’m thrilled to join the Champions at AIM. I’ve known them all for many years and am well aware of their capabilities”, enthused Bowie. “Regardless of the platform, all they’ve done is win. It is my great desire to match their on-track prowess with off-track marketing, communications and business development success.”

Bowie’s focus will be to establish AIM Autosport as a value-based motorsports marketing platform for endemic and non-endemic partners and stakeholders for 2019 and beyond.  For 2018, AIM is ready to return to PWC Sprint X and is currently seeking a funded driver for one available seat in the team’s NISSAN Nismo GT-R.
