Star Racer begins October 24 on Discovery Channel and Discovery HD.

Discovery Channel Goes Racing with AIM Autosport
Star Racer Show to Search for Canada's Best Racer

2006.10.16: A full-season with AIM Autosport is the grand prize for the winner of Star Racer, an eight-part series that will air Tuesdays at 10 pm beginning October 24 and running through December 12 on Discovery Channel and Discovery HD.

Produced by Insight Productions in association with Silverscreen International, Star Racer will explore the world of auto racing and the aspiring racers striving to reach the top. The driver with the most technical acumen, split-second instinct and a mastery of speed will earn the Star Racer title and receive the ultimate prize: a full-season in the Star Mazda Championship with AIM Autosport.

Hosted by actor and racing enthusiast Yannick Bisson, Star Racer has discovered the most promising racers in the country and, for one exceptionally talented driver, will make his or her racing dreams come true. The contenders will be evaluated by a superstar panel of judges including Canadian racing legend, Paul Tracy; and racer, teacher and author, Derek Daly.

Drawing competitors from karts, stock cars, motorcycles, sports cars, motocross and other disciplines, sixteen finalists - eight karters and eight drivers from other racing sports - will split into two teams before the elimination process begins. Only one will be victorious and take the Star Racer title and that season of racing with AIM Autosport.

See Star Racer on Discovery Channel and Discovery HD, Tuesdays at 10 pm and online at www.starracer.ca.
