With renewed sponsorship from Exchange Traded Gold, Barrick Gold and Telus Mobility's Mike Network AIM prepares for the Rolex 24.

Gold Partners Rejoin AIM Autosport
Partnerships delivering results on and off the track

2008.01.21: As preparations for the 46th annual Rolex 24 At Daytona reach a fever pitch, AIM Autosport is pleased to announce the renewal of the team's partnerships with Exchange Traded Gold and Barrick Gold for the 2008 Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series season. Both were cornerstone partners for AIM's Rolex Series campaign in 2007, with Telus Mobility's Mike Network also rejoining the team for 2008.

“We’re excited that Exchange Traded Gold and Barrick Gold have decided to continue with AIM Autosport as part of their overall marketing effort,” said AIM Autosport Team Principal, Ian Willis. The extension is just reward for the team's performance in 2007 which delivered six top-ten results in the highly competitive Daytona Prototype class. Even though it was a remarkable effort for the team's rookie season of Rolex competition, AIM’s long history of success in junior categories left the team hungry for more.

“Even though we didn’t make it to the winner's circle last year, we were fortunate to have marketing partners who were highly effective in activating the race program all season long,” said Willis. “We look forward to seeing that participation continue to grow and hopefully we can also bring them a win sooner rather than later!”

The 2007 Rolex season saw Exchange Traded Gold host a wide variety of guests at Rolex Series events including Laguna Seca and Sonoma, while Barrick brought a large group to the season finale at Miller Motorsports Park. Telus Mobility's Mike Network made the most of its home race at Montreal to reward winners of separate consumer and sales force competitions.

The 2008 Rolex Sports Car Series season commences next weekend with the 46th running of the Rolex 24 At Daytona on Saturday, January 26th and seems AIM well-prepared to make a run for the podium after its debut fifth place last year. The team has already announced a talented and experienced driver lineup that also boasts the youngest average age of any driving squad in the field.

Brian Frisselle teams with Mark Wilkins for the full fourteen-round season as former road racers turned emerging NASCAR stars Colin Braun and Andrew Ranger make one-off appearances with the team for the Rolex 24. Millions will have the opportunity to take in the race broadcast which will begin on the FOX Channel with ninety minutes of live coverage starting at 1:00 PM ET before continuing with a further 15.5 hours on Speed Channel.
