(08.01.2008) Without a morning practice session to check the car, Brian took his time to get the No. 61 Ford Riley up to speed, knowing that the tires would give the best performance later on. He steadily built up speed and was always a threat in the top five. As the 15-minute qualifying session closed on the final laps, Brian's times kept coming down and with one to go, he sat third with a time of 1:34.197. His last lap would be just a bit faster at 1:33.906 at @ 103. 852 mph to secure the third spot on the starting grid.

"The car was was good all round," commented Brian. "We are happy with being on the second row after yesterday's mishap and missing quite a bit of practice time. The crew has the car ready to race and we are hoping for a good run later on this afternoon.

Full day of practice ... not without incident
No. 61 suffers some damage but crew gets the car back on track

(07.31.2008) It was a full afternoon of practice for the No. 61 Ford Riley at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve as the Rolex Sports Car Series prepared for qualifying and racing in the Montreal 200 on Friday. Brian was the first car to record a 100 mph lap and the times seemed conisistent through the first two sessions, about one second off the leaders. At the end of the second session however, the 99 car got into a tangle with GT car as Brian came up on them and with nowhere to go, he hit the wall which resulted in some front suspension damage. While they missed session three, the crew set about making some planned changes to the rear of the car while replacing damaged parts at the front. Heavy rains hit the circuit about this time and the team now focused on getting the car on track for the day's final practice. They got on track and turned enough laps to determine the repairs were good and the car balanced. It also gave them the opportunity to test for rain setup on the now wet track.

"The car was fine and there were no major issues we have to contend with" reported Brian Frisselle who will be qualifying the car today. "The guys did a great job to get the car set up so that on Friday morning we can work on getting the balance fine tuned for the track. I think we'll be in good shape for qualifying and the race later today."
