Another double-header weekend for AIM Autosport
Prototypes at Infineon; Mazda at Mosport

(08.21.2008) AIM Autosport has another full weekend in store with the Exchange Traded Gold No. 61 Ford Riley Daytona Prototype at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California for round 12 of the Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Cask No. 16 and the No. 7 Formula Mazda at Mosport in Bomanville , Ontario for the next round of the Star Mazda Series presented by Goodyear.

Both teams are coming off strong results. The DP car recorded back-to-back wins with Mark Wilkins and Brian Frisselle dominating the last race at Watkins Glen from the pole position and John Edwards has recorded a win and a second place result over the last two race weekends.

The No. 61 Ford Riley made a terrific gain in points and is now sixth in the championship. Mark and Brian have moved into the top ten in the driver's championship. John Edwards also moved up in the Star Mazda championship going to fifth, but with the series allowing one drop this season, John is actually second overall at the moment, just ten points off the lead with five races to go.

The Mazda team had a practice session at Mosport today and John was P2, just one-tenth off the lead. More practice on Friday (22nd) with qualifying and race on Saturday.

The No. 61 has just finished its first (and only) practice for Thursday and is working on setup. Both Brian and Mark provided feedback thoughout the 2-hour session for qualifying and race conditions. They were .605 back of the leader at he end with a time of 1:27.600 at 101.506 mph.
