USF2000: St. Petersburg
Weekend Report "This is just one big learning curve for all of us", commented team manager Keith Willis, "but Anthony has been doing a great job in learning the basics and about working in a professional team atmosphere. With little experience coming into this event, the first race is more of an expended test session where we can start to work out the bugs. Add to that that this is also Anthony's first ever street race." Willis continued, "We have a long way to go but so far, Anthony has proven up to the task and has shown steady improvement since we rolled off the trailer on Friday. There has been limited track time and to end the day with a top ten in our first race in the series is very encouraging for us all." Anthony completed all 20 laps of the race and recorded a best time of 1:15.641 The team will have another opportunity to learn and develop under
race conditions with round two on Sunday morning at 8:00 am ET. "Anthony had a fantastic race going today" commented team manager Keith Willis. "We all learned a lot from yesterday and Anthony just continued to push forward. He immediately gained confidence going into the race today and was attacking throughout. Even with the damaged front wing, he was on pace throughout the race. This is a very happy result for everyone on the team." |
